We have two reindeer buses roaming the streets of Metro Vancouver, one conventional based in Vancouver and a shuttle based in Port Coquitlam. Rudolph Rudolph is a little shy and only comes out occasionally for short trips in the Vancouver area, however, there have been sightings of him in other municipalities in the region. Sweeping the disks
Every now and then it’s necessary to make some extra room on the disks. I’ve found a set of free tools that helps me see what is taking up all the space. JDiskReport (Multi-platform) JDiskReport presents multiple views for getting the statistics of file sizes. The default view is a pie chart showing the sizes of each of the subfolders in the current selected folder. Back in January I built a VMware ESXi 5 whitebox as my home server. I updated the hypervisor today and I thought I’d record the process so that I can refer back to it later. App Remote – Unleashing the Apple Remote
I’ve been using Sofa Control for my Apple Remote since I bought my Mac in 2009. I use Sofa Control pretty much every week when I volunteer with the youth ministry at my church. The Apple Remote by itself only works with certain programs that are designed to handle its input and it lacked support for other programs we were using such as OpenSong, which we use for song lyrics. My take on free entertainment at the Richmond Night Market
I went to check out Richmond Night Market at its new location near River Rock Casino. Something they don’t advertise on their website is that there’s a $1.50 admission fee into the venue (side note: they must be making on the order of tens of thousands of dollars a night with this system, not even including booth rental fees!). I decided it wasn’t worth it since all I wanted to do was a quick wander.
